Went to see "The Hobbit" last night (Posted on 1/10/13 at 9:04 am)
First of all, Tom Cruise and Will Smith each have separate movies coming out and the plots look identical. They showed the previews back to back and I said, they should have just combined forces and made one movie. I think the names were "Oblivion" and "After Earth". Both post-Apocalypse space-ish futuristic settings. Sort of like Halo but without actually showing any aliens.
The Hobbit was very entertaining. I put it on the same level as The Fellowship of the Ring, but not quite as good as The Two Towers and Return of the King.

Thought the Hobbit was excellent and glad they showed more of middle earth like the dwarves and the city of Dale as well as more to come about the wood elves and Dol Guldur. The Lord of the Rings were three books made into three movies whilst the Hobbit is one book to be three movies. Should have been more LoTR movies. But I'm just a huge fan so.

This ruined the movie for me. Me and everyone in the theatre walked out and got were so angry because the lighting ruined every single part of that movie. We all went to corner bar and got hammered and discussed the lighting all night.

There was some discussion on this board about how the movie was terrible because of the lighting, tone, etc. I was being sarcastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie for what it was and can't wait for the Desolation of Smaug.

I agree with this.
Just saw it last night, loved it and don't get the hate or the general response.
