He hired a DB coach today. Burton Burns turned down a FSU offer. What do you think?

Not worried. It's funny now. He will go into his seventh year at Bama in 2013 and rival fans will still - as every year - tell us he can't stand it and is desperate to get out.

Truth is he's driven to pass Bryant as winningest NC coach of all time. His best opportunity to do that is at Bama...and he knows that.

I think he has earned the skepticism. Maybe he stays until he retires and maybe he doesn't. But his "past experiences" have proved that you cannot rely on what he says or does today to predict what he will do tomorrow.

How can it be categorized as a lie when Saban hadn't even talked to a representative from Alabama at the time? Saban made that statement on December 21, 2006; he didn't speak with Mal Moore until January 1, 2007.

What Saban said "So I'm just telling you there's no significance, in my opinion, about this, about me, about any interest that I have in anything other than being the coach here."

According to ESPN: "In fact, Alabama had knowledge that Saban was very interested as early as the middle of this NFL season, the source said." LINK

Not saying he will leave, just that his past actions justify the seasonal merry go round.

ETA --- first quote is from December 26, 2006. I understand that Mal Moore (supposedly) had not talked to him. What difference does that make? If he was not interested he could have said, thanks, but no thanks.

He knows he'll never pass the Bear and can only be remembered as the best ever if he wins a NC at a third school (Texas?)

Why do some LSU fans continue to think they can "educate" Bama fans about Saban? He's been our coach longer than he was yours. We've got more history with him than you did, more experience with him.

We know what we've got in the guy and your constant "look out for the liar to leave" isn't going to change any Bama fan's opinion, nor will it make Saban leave a day earlier than he wants to. He'll go when he wants or stay until he retires. Either way, just bc left YOU doesn't mean he intends to leave Bama.

The butthurt from LSU fans seeing the coach that resurrected their program now dominate college football at a division rival is hilarious.

To answer the OP: haven't been worried since he accepted the job in 2007.

If the roles were reversed I'm sure you and your fellow Alabama fans would handle the situation with humility and class.

No doubt it would suck if the roles were reversed. And no doubt many Bama fans would hand it similarly to how someday fans have. However, at some point you have to recognize that he's been at Bama longer than anywhere else. He'll forever be thought of as "Alabama coach Nick Saban" bc of what he's accomplished in that role. No amount of LSU fans telling us he's going to leave will change that.

Again, just because he left LSU doesn't mean he's determined to leave Bama. He has never stayed at one ace longer than 5 years...until Bama. He'd never had back to back ten win seasons...until Bama where he has 5 consecutive ten win seasons. Things change. Perspective, focus, ambitions, and goals can all change.

The man has said repeatedly the NFL is something g he no longer desires. He's said he leaned about himself while there and that he is happiest in the college game. He's even said that he regretted leaving LSU. All that said, it seems unlikely that he leaves for NFL again.

Honestly, I'm more worried that when all coaches are hired that some LSU fan blows his brains out and blames it all on Nick Saban not leaving in the suicide note.

You people really need help - really.

Fact is for all his accolades as a coach......he is a proven liar.

Get use to living with it every year until either he leaves for the NFL or retires.

BTW he could end all of this by signing a contract with no OUTS in it but he won't. He will always have a one sided contract that says he can leave at any time.

We have already acclimated. It's not that bothersome to hear LSU fans fervently wish for his departure every year. I'll be worried when it stops, really.
