agreed. obviously not saying that we're the same team, but in 2003 we were #16 preseason...it'll be interesting to see how the season unfolds when not starting off in the usual top 5/top 10 preseason.

OSU should have an inside track every year. As long as they are better than UM, they are in. Urban ain't no dummy.

and so low preseason rankings aren't always favorable for LSU

even if we start out low in the top 10, or just inside the top 15, we have the type of schedule that will propel us pretty quickly if we win games. we have a marquee game right off (TCU), and others against top teams/ players (aTm, UGA, UF, Bama). win and we're golden.

just win baby!

TCU LSU is not exactly that great a matchup to start the season.

The Bad: LSU again will play a tougher set of teams in the regular season than it's big competition.

The Good: It is more spread out than this past season where LSU played 4 top 9 teams in 5 weeks.

yeah but it should be a primetime matchup on the 1st weekend of the season. probably the biggest game that wknd. our boys should be hyped up. good game to announce ourselves as contenders in 2013.

Any poll that has UT in the top 15 is flawed.

I'm pretty sure most of them knew as well. But blowing out a nationally recognized team in primetime is a great way to start a season with momentum. If LSU beat TCU that way to start next year it would generate a ton of excitement.
