UPDATE:LOL, got rejected from Health Insurance app, best thing EVA

so I had this little rapid heart beat thingy and had to go to the ER....have a little super vascular tachycardia something, no big deal....but I go to apply for Health Insurance, mine lapsed about 8 months ago....never use it.

I pick a plan that was about $430/month I get rejected..they tell me to call the government high risk line

They say I have 2 options:

State Option: 850/month....90 day wait period, have to pay first $500 deductible before coverage starts, yearly cap of 75,000

Federal option: $260/month, $25 doctor visits, instant coverage, no annual or lifetime cap

So all you have to do is have a letter rejecting Health care coverage from any Health Insurance provider in the last 12 month, and not have Insurance in the past 6 months and you can get this program.

What are the drawbacks to this PCIP program?

Beginning February 16, 2013, the federally-run Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) is suspending acceptance of new enrollment applications until further notice.

well got in just in time

quote:

State-based PCIPs may continue accepting enrollment applications through March 2, and will then suspend acceptance of new enrollment applications until further notice

Our great grand children will still be paying it off?

I've never heard of it before, but if it sounds too good to be true...

I'm not familiar with this, but likely, if it's a federal health insurance plan, many doctors won't accept it.

That is, until they are forced to in order to maintain there medical license.

okay so I have to pay first 1,500 I think...so what? I am saving 2,400 a year just on premiums, and what I am saving is near the Maximum that I would ever have to pay

Bay Area/San Francisco has about 1,000 Docs on the network list

I see this as Insurance lobby. Deny "high risk" then you only take money from low-risk healthy people, and Gov takes the risk

state gov can't print money or take on debt so their plan is 800.....Fed can print money and take on debt..so $200

NCTigah....seems to good to be true, got to be something wrong.

I can get regular HC coverage in another year after it's been a total of 3 years since I went to the cardiologist.

PCIP was 270

"price based on the county you live in"

Marin county is like top 10 in the country in Income.

David, i would do some research on this. Usually too good to be true is just that. Do no one in your area accept the Fed PCIP while they will accept the states? ect

click the PDF link at the bottom of that page for more specific benefits

LINK

looks like a lot less physicians 40k to 11k between the two plans

also, your PCIP copay is 15% you in-network up to a yearly max of $2500 so to hit the max out of pocket you need to have $16k worth of medical procedures proformed

50% for out of network with no max out of pocket on out of network

the MRMIP has a $20 copay but higher max out of pocket

Everyone reading this just may as well go to the Führer's web page and sign up.

No matter how you slice it you will eventually get here. Unless you like paying for it without getting the cheap rates.

LINK

CHOICE

A- $969 a month wait for 90 days

or

B- $260 a month everything is free and you get a lolipop, free Birth Control, viagra, rubbers, monistat 7,abortion because you don't like the sex of your baby.

you won't find out until later that if you need a special test they will gage your age, whether you smoke, if you donated to Obama/dems to decide.

Oh and you have to look like one of these people because you paid A LOT to have them flash on the Führer's state run health care,screen...

true, but in a metro area I don't see that as an issue....maybe in no man's land California it may be harder to find someone.

Plus this is insurance for me, "In case shite happens"....not "oh goody, a mosquito bite, make an appointment"

actually reading it though:

quote:

Provider network
n 11,000 primary care physicians
n 43,300 specialists
n 321 hospitals
n 250 urgent care
n 359 ambulatory surgery centers (ASC)
Provider network
n 40,000 PPO physicians
n 29,000 HMO physicians
n More than 400 hospitals

54,000 doctors to 69,000
321 vs 400 hospitals

800 vs 270....it's not linear

this is what insurance should be for everyone, INSURANCE not a medical plan

if medical insurance just covered major medical issues and the smaller items were paid out of pocket the system would not be as taxed because people would police themselves

quote:

SVT is generally not life threatening

told me to cut back on the caffeine....nothing more has ever happened

I use to drink 80 oz of coffee/day and I was on nicotine patches when that happened.

I quit smoking about a year ago and only drink de-caf.... cardiologist gave me clean bill of health with low blood pressure and low cholesterol.....even though I do have a belly

plus:

quote:

Stop using nicotine patches and contact your healthcare provider if you experience any symptoms of nicotine overdose, including:

Nausea and vomiting
Dizziness
Weakness
A rapid heartbeat.

Because it contains nicotine, the nicotine patch can increase your heart rate and blood pressure. Stop using it and contact your healthcare provider if you experience an increase in blood pressure or a fast, irregular, or forcefully beating heart.
