First of all, I am not a Les Miles fan. I'd love to drink a beer with the man, but I don't want him calling the shots for my team against the SEC juggernauts. There are a number of coaches I would rather see here at LSU than him, but he is here and I have to support him because I love LSU.

Everything the man does is questionable, but deep down, I know the guy is not a complete idiot. We all know he is THAT guy who will try to pound the run with 9 guys in the box, or try to force 7 step drop back passes on blitzing downs. And honestly, it's like he just wants to prove he can do it because people say he can't... Now I believe he has a golden opportunity to put his stubbornness to good use. The entire rant and the rest of the nation says that his offense is garbage and its holding LSU back. I believe he will use this in that same way to prove people wrong. With all the talent and experience returning on offense, he can stop being Les Miles for a minute and open up the playbook next year. I honestly believe this offense could be ranked in the top 20.

Think about it. He has less decisions to make and maybe not over think some things. Mett is the QB, no question at all. We have 3 stud running backs to choose from instead of splitting carries with 7 of them. There are 3 receivers and maybe 1 or 2 freshman that should see time. That right there should help clear his mind enough to concentrate more on the play calling and game plan.
We have great young talent coming up on defense and he will let Chavis do what he does best with them. If he can put up points, it will take the pressure off the young defense.

I honestly believe he knows what needs to be done, and I think he will do what has to be done because everyone in the world says he can't. He reads the paper, watches ESPN, and probably reads this board. He is well aware of what people think about him. Well, here is his chance to prove the world wrong. You have all the talent in the world at your disposal to do it with. History has shown that he has too much pride and has to prove people wrong. Now this time, we can benefit from that.

I may be reaching, but I believe that 2013 will be a completely different look and feel. I will give him one more chance to prove to me he belongs. Right now I don't, but I have enough faith in his flaws that they can actually work in our favor next year! So I am going to remain positive and look forward to next season. We have something great here, and I think next year is the perfect opportunity to bring some new excitement to Tiger Stadium.

I'm trying to look at something positive rather than complaining about the chicken bowl loss, or listening to the gumps bragging about their 103rd national championship.

So if CLM doesn't change, which we know he won't, then that nerve racking stubbornness will actually work in our favor in 2013. Les, you have 1 more year from me, so prove me wrong.

I disagree he has shown to be to damn uninsightful to change the way the offense operates.

Look Les has done some great things at LSU, is he Saban no, but there is only one Saban so it is what it is. What Les has done great this year is recruit in Louisiana and keep all of our studs in state. What Les does horrifically is he is too involved in the offensive play calling. Les needs to hire a qualified OC and keep his hands out of it like he does with our DC. Until Les does that we will continue to rely too heavily on the defense and ultimately will only be as successful as our defense goes. Which next year scares me because of how inexperienced our defense will be.

I don't disagree with you. But for the past month this whole board has been nothing but bashing the coaches and the offense. And I agree with damn near every one of them. We know Les is NOT going to get a new OC... Why? Because everyone thinks he should.
Now everyone thinks his offense will not change and be crap again next year... That may be reason enough for him to transform into some kind of offensive genius. Not the reason I would do it, but hey, it's Les... I'll take it however I can get it.

Not sure why that "scares" you, but that's what I'm saying in a sense. We should be more than happy with chicken in 2013.

You should start being unhappy about it right now then. By September you will be very glad you did.

The last time we had a defense with a bunch of sophomores we went undefeated and played for a national title...

Rant on...

Les needs to interview the top three OC's that are willing to come to LSU, Find the one with the the best fit for his philosophy of offense, and then hand over the reins. Get out of the kitchen!

For this to work we need somebody with enough experience (ala The Chief) that ain't gonna back down to Les, an OC that is just flat going to say: It is my call coach, if it don't work, then fire me. If it does, then stay the hell off my back.

And yes, I know the whole thing with Kragthorpe sucks. Les is loyal and compassionate. No easy answer there. But a change needs to be made and he is eating a good chunk of the pie and Stud ain't the guy that we need to change the results.

two cents worth.
