when he was first diagnosed I got the impression he might not even travel to road games, but he seems to still be doing all the same stuff he'd be doing as the OC, even recruiting.

is calling the actual plays on game day that stressful, because it seems as if thats the only thing that changed.

From my understanding it's just the overall work load that goes into game planning and putting together the offense day in and day out.

He probably figured out he wouldn't have complete control of the offense and decided he didn't want to get the criticism that comes with being our OC right now.

He's still part of the gameplanning, but felt his condition wouldn't allow him to call games, do pressers, and all the other duties that come with being an OC.

They said that he didnt want to committ to being the OC because some days he is fine, but other days he may not be able to walk around or install the gameplan and that wouldnt be fair.

Because elevated stress level is a catalyst for his "bad days" and krags and his doctors felt the stress level of being OC would be too much. So being the QB coach he can pick his spots and if he is having a bad day, things can continue without him.

FTR stud and krags talk on the headsets constantly and a big improvement in getting plays in faster is Miles supposedly took a step back and listens more and talks less.

I think this is all about to change. I think the OL coach also being the OC is a problem and will soon be addressed.

A good HC would have known this before it happened. No one in his right mind would have tried this. Too many naive, ignorant fans on this board just don't get it. Les Miles is not a big time coach. Mediocre at best. Great coordinators have earned him his paycheck.

I'm not trying to pile on Miles because 14 months ago I was still the eternal optimist who vehemently defended him and I'd like to think I wasn't completely wrong, but considering his background, why in the frick do we even need an OL coach? shouldn't he be able to handle that?

So when a coach gets sick and you have a coach with oc experience you go else were in august?? Who else was there?? We blew everyone out exept bama last year!!! Stop acting like we never have success.. You might not like the conservative approach but it's not your choice nor mine.Get over it

Way too many responsibilities for a HC to also coach OL.

OL is the biggest position unit on the team and requires a lot of attention. I think they covered up some OL problems last year with good leadership. I think losing Faulk, hurst and Williford and having the OL coach also work as the OC exposed some glaring holes in teaching and managing personnel. Holes that were not covered this year with leadership.

Supa is right, the dual resposibilty thingy is not working. Miles should figure it out and fix it. I am waiting patiently to see if he is going to.
