I've lived here over a year now and have become obsessed with the food. I am making it a mission to try the best this state has to offer. My experiences have mainly been limited to the Lafayette and Nola areas. Please give me any suggestions you have for the categories listed below. Restaurants only, everyone's relative makes the best. Here is my list so far....

Gumbo
Galatoire's
Fezzo's
Don's

Crawfish
Louisiana Crawfish Time
Dwight's

Po Boys
Parkway
Old Time Grocery
Domilise's

Oysters
Drago's
Felix's
Acme

Steak
Dickie Brennan's
Morton's
Rib Room

Shrimp Dish
Mr.B's
Dante's Kitchen

Étouffée
Dwight's
Bon Ton Cafe

Other great restaurants
Cafe Giovanni
Cafe Vermillionville
Jolie's Bistro

Haven't been in years, but Pat's in Henderson used to have awesome gumbo. I'm also partial to Maspero poboys.

Yeah, it's in Cypress Bayou. It sucks that it's in probably the shittiest none truck stop casino in Louisiana
