Per Marc stein " hearing next d league call up will be Donald Sloan to the hornets".

Are we making a trade or cutting Roberts?

If we cut Roberts by five Tom his deal isn't guaranteed rest of the year. 10 day contracts open up soon too. Seems like Roberts is somewhat worth keeping. I don't get our moves lately.

The timing suggests we're cutting Roberts.

Is Roberts' contract that much of a burden on us???

Like his game or not, he is one of the few guys that has any shooting confidence off our bench.

This move suggests they think Gordon is good to go and Roberts won't be getting minutes. Same with McGuire, he was brought in so they could sit Aminu, he served his purpose and now Demps wants flexibility. Roberts was already making the minimum so it won't save the team any significant money. Can guys on 10 day deals be traded? Trade filler that expires instantly?

Ok, if this is not a money move, is it just to change for the sake of change? Cut a guard that presumably won't get minutes for another lesser-talented guard that won't get minutes?

Maybe I was wrong to assume the 5th guard wouldn't be getting minutes. Maybe this was an offense for defense switch. An interesting point from the Vasquez Haters thread.

quote:

It would also help Vasquez if his backup could play defense but Roberts may be the worst on the ball defender on the team. Opposing point guards routinely penetrate on Roberts and when Vasquez returns to game it makes it seem like he has been getting killed.

Anyone remember how good of a defender Sloan is?

I don't know enough about Sloan but if he is a better defender this could be a move that proves beneficial.

Sloan's draft express

I wouldn't mind adding him.

I'm also curious what dell has planned
