What seperates these 2 great programs? TA&M is definitely on the rise. Recruiting from a talent rich state, Texas Longhorns on a decline, LSU with suspect offensive play calling, and TA&M finishing in the top 5 at seasons end. TA&M officially have arrived and they will not be going away anytime soon.

LSU has about 3x's the pro prospects A&M has.

they just have the Heisman QB. It creates a pretty huge gap. See Auburn a few years ago.

Don't they have to beat LSU to be the new LSU? And if A&M is the new LSU, who is LSU now?

They have to beat us first..... If that happens, which it probably won't, then maybe.

will be interesting to see how they replace the second best pass rusher in CFB and two 1st round OTs on the OL.

Manziel is great and aTm is good, but we've all seen teams have great years and not-so-great years. While I also believe aTm will be a good team in the SEC, I don't think one good year where they go 11-2, losing to LSU at aTm, means we should crown them the best of the SECW. They are good and will be a good rival, nothing more, nothing less.

Texas A&M took Arkansas' place as a top three SEC West Team...

This changes nothing for LSU; at least for now.

The answer: NO!!!!

They will be a formidable opponent, but I'm not ready to crown them sec champs just yet. LSU and Bama are still the teams to beat in the west until proven otherwise.

No. we beat then on the road already. They lose roughly the same as we do to the league, two bookend tackles and an end on M&Ms level...and JF isnt gonna put up the same numbers again, and everyone gonna have a year to continue to figure him out

If we lost at ATM in tiger stadium, i'll be pissed to say the least

For the TAM discounters, just remember people were suggesting what happens when Tannehill and Von Miller go Pro?

They are coming on strong in recruiting, and JFF is helping them sell Texas kids on staying home..

They're a sexy sell right now..Sumlin's got momentum

I'll catch he'll from other Aggie fans but i'm a realist. No we are not the new LSU and imo it's gonna take 3 to 5 years of good recruiting and coaching to be a consistent 10 or more win per year program.

Without a doubt, sans JFF, Sumlin needs more time to build a wall-to-wall roster, if trying sustain an Bama/LSU-esque 10-2 and/or better seasons like clockwork.
