Would anybody else like to see him with the Saints? Hard hitter with some nice cover skills. I think he'd be a nice fit in our secondary.

If you dont slot a player as to his draft postion and where a team pics then whats the point. There are 100+ players we would like to play for us but this isn't fantasy football talk.

Sure I would want him will he be available? Probably not. We should have lost more games like Chad wanted

We don't need another Roman Harper who hits slightly harder

Would prefer to shore up the front 7.

Played against him during HS ball, great instinctive player. I'm pretty sure he's faster then Harper As of now we won't be able to get him with no 2nd rounder since he seems to be a later 1st or 2nd round player

wouldn't mind a guy like Elam honestly. He can hit and is a sure tackler. The secondary hasn't ever been the most physical group. The coverage skills....I don't know.

Get outta here Les. Elam is much better in coverage than Harper. Not saying the Saints will draft him, but he will be a good player in the NFL.

Elam doesn't seem that good in coverage. He looks great at coming up to rush the passer or for run defense.. I can't find any highlights where he has great coverage. ETA: He does complete tackles and make hard hits though. I think he could be pretty good in the NFL, but we need cover guys. Not worth reaching to a not-so-needy position in the 2nd or 3rd when he doesn't fit our exact needs.

Saw a Rotoworld mock draft where the Saints picked Mingo and mentioned Oregon's Dion Jordan as another possibility. They had Elam going late in the first. Mike D thinks even Sam Montgomery could be available there.

I desperately think the Saints need a FS with good cover skills. I think it can change the face of our defense. That said, I'm not sure Elam is that guy, but he couldn't be worse than Jenkins.

I don't think Jenkins is a good safety...I would almost like to see him back at CB.

100% agree. Safety just isn't his natural position. He played the nickle spot very well his 1st two years here. I say move him back also.
