After the SECs horrible showing in the. Bowls thus far I say they could easily beat every team except Bama. Although I think Bama - Oregon would be a really great match up.

All

It's ignorant to think that a team as talented as Oregon couldn't beat ANY team in a 1 game schedule

They could beat anyone in the SEC or lose to 7-8 SEC teams.

Just FYI - Bowl games aren't always indicators.

Except Bama? I think they would struggle more with lsu and Georgia than Bama.

Texas A&M would give them more trouble than Bama IMO. That game would be epic.

Bama couldn't handle A&M's spread and pace. They were constantly confused and looking to the sidelines. Oregon is A&M at 10x the pace. I think they'd win somewhat handidly.

Bowl games are shitty indicators, for some teams (Louisville) it's a Super Bowl; for some (Florida) it's a consolation prize.
Could Oregon beat any team in the SEC? Sure, but I'd they played in th SEC this year they'd have at least two losses.

Any team with elite defensive line always gives Oregon huge issues, so Florida, Bama, South Carolina, LSU, TAMU and potentially UGA as long as their SEC Championship D didn't show up.

Meh, Oregons fast paced offense is like a one trick pony. If you're not in shape and ready they'll put up points in a hurry and be up 21 before you can blink. But if you handle it ala LSU last year and Stanford this year they become just a normal effective spread offense

Yea, IF you stop it.

Like a poster said, if you have a dominant DL, you can give Oregon problems. That's why I said Texas A&M would give Oregon more trouble than Bama, and it's why I thought A&M would beat Bama. Bama doesn't have a dominant DL this year, and thus A&M moved the ball with ease on them (as would Oregon IMO).

Also, you can pretend you're in shape, but no one is in shape unless you've done it in a game situation. Moffitt shits all over Clemson's S&C coach (Joey Batson), but LSU players were still falling like flies in the 4th quarter because they'd never done that pace in a game situation while Clemson was used to it.

Please explain this. Florida lost their division fairly early on against Georgia and had no shot at the BCSNCG. None. Georgia had nothing but cream puffs after the 10/27 game against Florida so Florida knew that it was Sugar Bowl at best. This is nothing but an excuse. Even after the Alabama loss on 11/10 it was clear that Alabama would be a 1 loss SEC West champion so at worst Florida knew nearly 2 months before their bowl game that they had no shot.

i'm not defending the excuses, but they did have a shot at the national title game

Did you watch the game? It was pretty clear to me that Florida didn't give a frick and Louisville gave all the fricks.

that's why their D was swarming around and trying to lay killshots?

Florida was flying around committing constant personal fouls and talking trash, especially in the first quarter. Didn't really look like a team that had no interest in playing.

Outside shot. It would have taken a series of dominoes like 2007 IMO for Florida to have gotten in.

Exactly. A Big Ten team loses a close bowl game and they suck. An SEC team gets dominated and it's because they were disinterested. Freaking hypocrites.
