People from South Alabama are Saints fans. People actually move sometimes. Others blow Saban.

This is such an overwhelming truth.

Seriously, you will find more Saints fans in 2 blocks in NOLA than you will Falcons fans in 50 square miles in ATL.

Seriously, you will find more Super Bowl rings and Lombardi Trophies in New Orleans than you will in the entire state of Georgia.

Congrats on 2009. I didn't know we were talking about the past though.

In that case, my prediction for the next few years is the Alabama Crimson Tide will be a dynasty - who wants to bet on that?!

The only thing worse is seeing "LSU" plastered all over the car

Or even worse - "New Jersey University College @ New Orleans Green Slime" - with New York, New Jersey and Connecticut license plates.

South Alabama and even the panhandle of FL are huge Saints areas. A lot of transplants. I moved down here in 2005 and began pulling for the Saints. It's hard a lot of times because I feel like I have nothing in common with most of the trash who are big time NFL fans, but I still pull for them.

Why so many? I've seen so many Louisiana license plates on vehicles with a fleur de lis Saints logo and a Crimson 'A'

Because there are a lot of New Orleans snobs who hopped on the band wagon just to piss off their LSU neighbors. Who cares really, support whatever pro team you want.

Why are LSU fans utterly obsessed with Bama?

I hope you come back after getting trounced in the divisional round.

You know, this area doesn't have too many pretentious assholes. You should frequent more bars and tell people what you really think of them.

I mean its no secret that Alabama fans are the most obnoxious bunch in the Mobile Bay area...

but shite. I guess they have their own way of proving it.

As for the amount of Saints fans in this area, well it hasn't always been a big following.

You would see the same types of messages in the sports sound-off every week in the newspaper. Most of them would be a disgruntled fan saying "I can't take this anymore, we need a QB, we need a coach, we need help everywhere!"

But other times you'd see people requesting that other games be televised (cowboys, steelers). It never worked which I thought was funny. Those were the types of reactions you would see in the late 90's anyway.

We didn't have a big following in this area until around 2006.
