I'd kick my own arse if I spent that much on an animal

With the description that you are giving the first thing that came to mind is the bichon-frise. They are froo froo mommy's little princess looking dogs, but they fit your description. I would have to turn in my man card if I ever bought one.

Stuffed. You can find them at Toys R Us. Seems like it would be perfect for you.

re: Help finding a breed (updated going to look at one today)

Eh, my dog is worth every penny to me.

It's a lot of money but PWD's are very hard to come by and the national breed group is very protective of the bloodlines and preventing interbreeding.

I had to go throw a longer process to get the dog than to have kids.

The litter our dog was in had 8 pups and the breeder had over 50 applications for those 8 dogs.

I have a lot of money tied up in my lab but she's a hunting tool no different than my shotgun....I'm not a dog person

If you have a yard, spend time outside and enjoy jogging/walking it is hard to pass on border collies. I used to be a lab guy but am now fully sold on borders. Great house dog, love to spend time outside, good companions, and incredibly smart.

Mine sheds a lot, but she doesn't seem to be too concerned with leaving her hair all over the place. Great dog, though.

Beagles are great but mine sheds a ton.

I had two beagle mixes from the same litter. They shed a ton too, especially the sister. Beagles are also more prone to cancer than other breeds.

Otherwise, they're great dogs and work well as apartment dogs. They're also good if the OP is going to have kids (or nieces and nephews) in the next 10-12 years. Beagles are very sweet and they love kids.

I didn't realize this many people were comfortable admitting they buy dogs.

I have a hound dog that you could have. She is about 18 mos. old and completely house trained. Someone dumped her on our street sometime around March of last year and the sucker I am, just had to let her come in from the wet cold. My DH might not let me give her away, I think he gets a kick out of how she tortures me!

Seriously, get an AmStaff(from the shelter). They are amazingly sweet and they do shed(like all dogs) buy their hair is so tiny that is like little eye lashes. They are dry less than 5 minutes after being soaked.

Mini Goldendoodle/Labradoodle. Doesn't shed, 30-35lbs, incredibly smart and obedient
