The next decade won't be too fun. Lsu will have good teams every year, but its probably safe to say that bama will be better pretty much every year. Their coach is simply better. Les should thank God every day for those crazy games that happened the last weekend of the 2007 season that allowed lsu to get to the bcs chanpionship game.

Giving up on the next decade of LSU football?

Winning over 80 percent of your games and winning championships not good enough for you?

Saban is not coming back to LSU until possibly the year 2020 when Coach Miles's current contract expires.

Honestly, I wish people would get over the doom and gloom. Spurrier, for as great a coach he's been, only won one championship. There is a Cholly Mac quality of Les Miles. I also see comparisons to Bobby Bowden. But this is a different time and Miles is a different coach. Frankly, this team wasn't as talented or as deep as the 2011 team. We lost too many experienced players and played too many Freshmen to be considered the best. Other than Saban (and maybe Meyer) there has been no one more successful than Miles in the last 5-7 years.

New and original topic, how did you ever think of this comparison?

Nick Saban should do the same for Iowa State beating OK St allowing Bama to get a rematch against LSU last year. Then he should thank Stanford and Baylor this year for knocking off Oregon and K-State allowing him to get back to the BCS CG this year. While he's at it, he should go a head and thank LSU and Florida for beating Texas A&M, because if A&M had won 1 of those games, Nick and the boys would be gearing up for the Sugar Bowl tonight.

In other words, you made up your mind and no amount of evidence to the contrary will change it.

Their first seasons at lsu aren't that different. One big difference is that bear bryant was already at bama when mac became head coach at lsu. Miles had a few years on saban before he brought bama back.

Good grief. Some of you have lost your minds. 10-3 and lost our bowl by one point. To think after 2012 that we've peaked and are headed for 7-5, 6-6, etc and not compete for the West or SEC anymore is just crazy.

No shite. Thanks for pointing this out to the morons here.

Two more questions:

1) Did Bear Bryant ever need a Mulligan to beat CM after losing to him AT HOME?

2) Did Bear Bryant have a Bama alum working the SEC schedules to assure his toughest conference rivals would have schedules that were two or three times as difficult so he could skate to the SECCG or NCG?

I guess it is safe to say the Bear is still a step above the mighty Saban then.

I doubt it. The conference was smaller then, and Bama scheduled tough OOC games often. The Bear, IMO, would not have lost a game in 2011 or 2012 with the rediculously easy schedules Bama has had.

Hell, Bama SHOULD win it all again next year as well due to this scripted, predictable formula.

This may be true but the "Help Mac Pack" crew helped destroy LSU in the 80's. I will take the devil you know. Saban is not a god, but he is a very good coach who has been very lucky at Bama. Having the SEC office and ESPN in your pocket doesn't hurt either.
