Thing is, Shanle has a quote in the press where he is highly critical if Williams, even calling him an idiot.

I think it's Harper, who was a big GW fan.

Good point, I was leaning towards Shanle, but forgot about that quote.

It very well could be Harper. Without looking at any numbers, it seemed like Spag's scheme called for him to blitz less than GW's, which is one of his strong suites, and probably pissed him off.

I don't love coaches who haven't been coordinators in a while too much. Wade Phillips did well though... i guess its possible. Haslett did okay going back.

Abridged version of the unnamed quote:

"The mean man told us what to do."

Sorry you loved GW, but after pissing away two playoff games, he had to go.

I'm not a Spags hater at all and would be fine with giving him another year. But I also am not against him leaving.

A good scenario for us is for Dennis Allen to get fired in Oakland, Spags to "move on" to another team and for us to hire Allen as DC.

If your biggest argument as a player against Spags is that the inmates no longer run the asylum, it makes me like him more actually

it's probably Harper, he did love him some GW

but frankly IDK where you go with this.

Allen isn't getting canned in Oakland so that's out

and while I personally prefer more of a attack defense than Spags showed, I don't think you can him after one year without SP on the sidelines as well

but I;m kinda in the middle, still bad vibes for me coming from this team

I'm in the middle as well.

Spags has done well elsewhere and seems like a smart guy.

However, we did just give up the most yards in a season...EVER.

I wouldn't be upset of Payton went in a different direction, but I'm not calling for his head yet.

That is not a bad point. Except the part about the anonymous player saying he is awful in adjustments, however I have to believe Spags did adjust as the year rolled on. Seemed like he tried to blitz a lot more once he realized his defensive line was nonexistent.

Honestly, I remember seeing adjustments in games.

It was especially obvious because Carmichael's offense did not.

And seriously, how can you praise GW in onesentence and then complain about adjustments in the next?

It didn't? I definitely saw effort to run the ball more. After Vitt came back.

I never trust these "annonymous players"

For all anyone knows it's one guy who was unhappy with his playng time, or looking to blame the DC for his own shortcommings.

this. there's a personal tone in these comments.

Who saw less playing time and possibly got benched lately?
