Herbstreit just talked to one Pac-10 defensive coordinator and Herbie can tell you that Alabama does not want to be playing USC right now.

I remember them being ranked #1 in the preseason, not sure how that was handed to them anymore than any other team that's ranked in the preseason poll.
I totally missed the part were Barkley was handed the Heisman. I could have swore the last 2 guys to win that were RGIII and JFF.

Anybody who thought they were the best team in the country going into this season was either uninformed or just plain stupid. They were never that good.
