He won big at Iowa about 5-6 years ago and even though Hayden Fry won at Iowa, Iowa fans are convinced it's impossible to win at Iowa. Plus he coached under Belichick in Cleveland so he trolls Iowa every two years like he's a legit NFL candidate and prison rapes them for more money.

I could not imagine thinking that way about my school. Nice job by Ferentz

it took a hail mary to beat a pretty bad LSU team that was playing with a departing coach

This was the argument du jour a few years back, completely ignoring the fact that bringing in top talent is a huge part of being a great coach.

This has to be why you never hear for them calling for him to be fired. But if they are content with mediocrity, why pay Ferentz such a big salary?

that comes from their next excuse/line of thought of "we can't get anyone better" / "who are we going to get that's better?"

what's funny is they act as if its impossible to win at Iowa, but Iowa City isn't any worse than a lot of other B1G college towns...it's just a lazy excuse

I actually don't think he is currently remotely as hot as he once was.

They have to keep him from all the NFL teams dying to hire a 6-7 win a year college coach.
