Watching one of my favorite movies right now in Cast Away. Got me thinking, what are some of the greatest roles played by inanimate objects besides Wilson? Is Wilson the best?

I'm going with the Ark of the Covenant, Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, or Red Ryder BB Gun

Side note:

Spoiler:

I think the main reason that Wilson had to "die" is because chuck couldn't show back up to civilization being best friends with a frickin volleyball. When Wilson floated away so did chucks ties to the island. It allowed him to move on.

I would say the Mego figure Captain America (I think it was CA) in "Pursuit of Happyness". When the kid lost it, it represented the innocents his son gave up while living homeless.

The one ring. It has a will of its own. It wants to be found.
