Why do crappy bowls exist?

I heard by the time teams travel and pay for tickets it's a loss. Also, the old new Orleans bowl owners would lose money every year. How do shitty bowls survive?

Most of the the shitty early bowl games are owned entirely by ESPN.

So if no fans show up, enough degenerates watch to make advertisements profitable?

No frick dipshits? But where does the money come from? Who is watching this crap to make it profitable?

As mentioned, ESPN owns most of the shitty ones. They must be making money on them if they are buying them up.
The Indy Bowl in Shreveport is probably one of the last remaining non-ESPN owned shitty bowls.

the players. you know, the students that actually play the game. the guys on the field. some of you people don't want to do any thing for the players. it's like they don't matter.

If crappy bowls didn't exist, we would've been deprived of that incredible Arizona/Nevada game.

All about money. If you lose more than 4 games you shouldn't sniff a bowl game.

Why do crappy threads exist?

I think the OP poses a legitimate question. When you turn on the games and see the stadiums half empty, or more, it makes you wonder a little.

true.
but how many of these games are sellouts? I've seen a few BCS games that had plenty of empty seats too.
Hell, I went to the Alabama-Utah Sugar Bowl a few years ago. There were several seats empty in the upper deck. It didn't take away from my game experience though. And I'm sure plenty of people enjoyed how that game turned out despite an underwhelming crowd on hand.

More football to watch for me. People complaining about it clearly don't like wathcing football anyway.
