I just heard from a good friend this "stud" baseball player named Justin Williams is committed to us. He said this guy might go early in the draft. I have been looking up stuff on him and it does sound like he has a shot to go pro. I was looking for more info about him. Any chance he comes to lsu? How good can this kid be if he does come to lsu? Is his game refined at all?

I believe there was a thread about him a month or so ago. It sounds like he has a ton of power (won a couple home run derbys). I imagine its a long shot, but you never know.

Although he received major attention from pro scouts at the national games, Williams, who is ranked in the Top 5 of most national high school baseball recruiting lists for 2013, said he still plans to honor his verbal commitment to LSU, even though there is a good chance he could hear his name called in the early rounds of the Major League Baseball draft next year. He said he will discuss his future plans with his family when that time comes, but as for now, he's planning to join the Tigers. "I want to get an education," Williams said. "I'm not going to play baseball forever. Every baseball player needs something to fall back on. They have pro players who have millions of dollars, and they are set for life. I'm not there yet, so I have to start planning ahead."

Found the thread. Here ya go.

ETA: The thread is at the bottom of page 15.

His Dad came to our office the other day for a job interview. We got to talking and I made the comment that I don't think he will make it to campus. He just looked at me and said don't count him out just yet!

I didn't realize he was black(not that it matters at all). I get excited every year that one of the top recruits is going to come to campus and they never do so I guess I'll try not to get excited. I normally don't even think about looking into baseball recruits until may to see how they have been doing and if they have a chance.

Usually 2-3 players a year get drafted in 1st rd and don't go.

Regardless you have to take everything with a grain of salt. After the Zach Lee and ZVR debacles, I've learned not to believe anything recruits say until they have signed on the dotted line or the draft signing deadline has passed.
