Is this a decent pistol?

unf'king believable.
yes, very safe buy. i've put 3 diff types of bullets to see if i could jam it up with as fast as i could pull the trigger.... it will not bind up. and it was brand new when i did that.
little big if you want to tote it around all the time, but it's one hell of a gun. super well made.

I have the subcompact and I love it. Shoots well and is a tank.

haha... just read those reviews. they're practically saying the same thing i said about the not jamming up. super reliable feed, and very accurate.
i loved the "if sig and glock had a lovechild, this would be it. best of both worlds" line.
and i just learned that it goes through the same stress tests that glocks and h&k's do. pretty neat.

MEH...It's a great gun but overpriced IMO.

Cool! I just picked one up at bass pro

brilliant move. you'll never regret it unless you were about to starve and probably should have bought food instead... in that case, you may.

I love my XD40. Throw some night sights on it.

I was looking at some in bass pro today..pretty decent. I'm thinkin a Smith and Wesson M&P .45 will be my first handgun purchase though. In a few years when I'm drippin money I'll get one of those 1911s.

I have one and I love it. I have shot thousands of rounds without a misfire or jam. It breaks down the same way as a glock too, so it's easy to clean.

Overpriced
I paid $475 for a new one at Cabelas over the summer.

Solid choice, bro.
I convinced a buddy to get one who wanted an M&P9. I talked him into the 45 and he hasn't looked back since.

Springfield has been around as long as firearms have been around in the US and these pistols are fantastic.
However, I fond them too bulky and a PIA for CC.

+1
For home defense or recreation, the XD is great. But it is far from an ideal CC weapon. Those things are as wide as a 2x4 on the 4" side.
But, it's still a great firearm. It just has its limitations.

I've got one and I like it. I like my Glock 19 better though. I didn't post that to compare the 2, I did it to head off all the "I thought you were a Glock guy" comments.

Put over 400 rounds through mine, 0 jams. Absolutely love it, my next buy will be a XDM heard good things about those too.
