Scenes like this are what helped make Sonny Crockett the second greatest tv detective of all time(behind Theo Kojak)

Always liked this one with Ted Nugent. The song is pretty slick too.

Really good one that I actually remember.

I credit Miami Vice with saving my life once back in the 80's. I had watched it enough to know what could happen to someone flying to San Francisco with a bag of money, meeting some guys at a motel and driving a kilo of coke back to Texas in a rental car.

Wasn't just worried about some kind of double-cross, also had concerns about stopping in the middle of nowhere during the drive and seeing how much of it I'd have to snort to killed myself. Wasn't suicidal but doubt I could have controlled myself with that.

He was a P.I.

Crockett was on a force. Crockett was grittier.

I go with Crockett.

Yeah I didn't watch much of Magnum. But it seemed like Crockett faced a lot tougher crowd in 80's Miami then Magnum in 80's Hawaii.

It's a losing proposition
But one you can't refuse
It's the politics of contraband
It's the smugglers blues....

sorry it's all this Miami Vice talk.

Another Michael Mann offering that never gained as much traction as Miami Vice. LINK

Rocket, you got me again! Miami Vice is my bat signal!

One of my favorite scenes:

From either the first episode or Calderone's Return

One of the best endings ever! After Sheena Easton's character (Caitlyn) SPOILERS

is killed by the guy Crockett tried to get pardoned who was on death row in the episode "Forgive Us Our Debts," Crockett finds him in "Deliver Us From Evil." This ending is so freaking awesome.

I watched that one just the other night. There's not a man alive that wouldn't have done what he did to Hackman.

The end of that episode still, to me, is one of the best ones.

I wish I could find the end of "Freefall," the last episode. The compilation of clips at the end is awesome. I have it on VHS.

I think you mentioned this clip the last time we talked about Miami Vice:

From the episode "Sons and Lovers." I searched high and low when I was in my 20's for that song and I ended up having the CD all along. It's on the "No Jacket Required" CD from Phil Collins. I think it's the last track.

And you have to include the episode when the Testarossa shows up!! (Stone's War)

If I remember right, the song is "When the Rain Comes Down" by Andy Taylor, guitarist from Duran Duran and the Power Station.

Damn what an awesome show!!
