I really think that this character is Khan even though the character's official name is John Harrison.

I don't think he will be. HOWEVER, it is Abrams, so it could be just about anyone from the Star Trek Universe (or beyond).

In The Hobbit's 10 minute preview, I swear when he says "I can fix him" before the dad turns around I thought it was going to be Patrick Stewart.. It sounded just like him. Cumberbatch has a great voice. He'll make a great Smaug.

The timeline only changed as of the interaction with the Kelvin by Nero going forward. Everything prior is still the same - including the Eugenics Wars from which Khan sprang.
I think this is going to be Space Seed on steroids; however, I don't think the ending will necessarily be the same.

Possible spoilers, maybe...
I think someone said that John Harrison was the name of a character who Kahn nearly killed in the TV show... so people are speculating that Kahn assumes the identity of John Harrison... Just internet bullshite, maybe

If you notice at the end there is an obvious spock "V" hand on one side of the glass and another hand on the other side.... I'm thinking radiation issues from a warp drive reactor like in the orginal Star Trek 2.

Yeah but I don't think J.J wants an exact remake which makes me think Kirk will die instead of Spock. And it looks like Spock is safe and the other hand isn't.
