You want one crafted from 7075 aluminum. Forged is the standard, run of the mill lower that for the most part all look the same minus the manufacturer's mark and finish (some have a darker, matte look to em). As long as you get one from a reputable manufacturer it should fit all parts nicely. I have had friends go cheap on their lower and not have things like the fire selector and pistol grip fit properly. The other option if you want your rifle to stand out would be a billet lower. Do the same job, just look better doing it.

Quick question. I was all set to buy a used ACOG TA01NSN for $550. But just found out that the optic no longer glows because the tritium wore out. Trijicon won't fix it because I am not the original owner. They want to charge 543 to fix it which I won't be doing...

I know 550 is a great deal for this used scope but is it still worth it since the optic no longer lights up during low light or night time?

Do not buy a polymer lower. Billet lowers are stronger than forged. Make sure its made out of Aircraft grade aluminum T7076 or 7077 I think.

Honestly Drew I wouldnt. Id look at some of their other products or hold out until I could afford a new ACOG.

Cant believe they won't fix the tritium though

I can afford a new one. It's just justifying the cost that gets me.

If you can afford it get it. You should never have to buy another optic. From that standpoint its not expensive its an investment.

Honestly Its been a while since I played with one, but the answer, just like with the rifle, depends on how you are going to use the optic.

I will say this, my next serious optic will either be the RMR or the Vortex Razor and I got a pretty nice sized boner when I saw the new Vcog.
