The technology isn't new, its been around for awhile, I think RCA is one of the first to use it in a BCG. M&p, S&W, Barrett and others use the finish for slides and barrels and and such.
All it does is strengthen the already mil-spec BCG, and H&M (the people that do the finish) are top notch and regarded as one of the industry leaders in this process.

FWIW is BCG also comes with a lifetime warranty. If you dont like it send it back.
