I was cleaning my four wheeler and when I was drying it off I heard something shorting out. This wire(was taped) was smoking. Apparently it was cut or chewed. I unrolled the electrical tape to find what I assume to be red(hot), green ( ground) and 3 yellow wires all exposed. What the frick to do now? Any suggestions? Not sure which yellow goes with which. They are not labeled.

I peeled the tape back to better expose the wires. It was just a small cut in it. I assume a rat chewed it or something nicked it while riding. No clue really. fricker was smoking though while melting the tape. Just need to know if it matters which yellow wire goes where. Hard to follow out where exactly they go because everything is taped.

Are those for the brake lights?

They look pretty thick so I am curious as to what they go to. I have a 350 Rancher book at my house so if you know what they are for, I can look it up for you

Sounds like trial and error is the only way to go in this case.

those wires go to the charging system.
I would pet them back together with butt connectors and dielectric grease. Then crank and check voltage at battery. should be over 13.5v. if to low it burnt up the stator
