Please tell me they are more reliable that the old mini bulb kind. I've spent more time this year repairing broken strands that putting them up.

Very much so, and I prefer the color to the halogen counterpart.

They are great. You can string together lots of sets (50-80) on one plug, unlike the old ones which are limited to just a few.
My ex left over 1000 strands of lights (most new in the box) in the house when she left.

Spend a little extra and buy your LEDs here and you will never have to worry about changing a bulb again the rest of your life.

They have "warm white" colored LEDs now for those that don't like the bluish white.

This. These look much closer to the white lights we're all accustomed to. I may actually get rid of my icicle lights after this year and get some LEDs next year.

I go for the old school C7 bulbs and remove every one before taking them off of the tree/railings. I put the socket strand up before screwing in bulbs the following year. Perfect. Cool, warm lights.
