Pretty awesome. We had some tin behind my uncles barn that used to have rats under it. Not near that many, but it was always good for 10 or 12. We'd use baseball bats.
If you ever do that, make sure to tuck your pants inside your boots. I had one come up my overalls and the next thing I knew I woke up staring at the sky. Evidently I jumped so high I hit a beam overhead and knocked myself out. Cousin killed the rat after he jumped off my chest.

I'll say this about Jack Russells, if they got to be 40 pounds, I wouldn't go outside if there was one within twenty miles. Those are vicious little beasts.
I've had one unprovoked dog bit in my life, and that little bastard darted out of nowhere and took a quarter sized hunk out of the back of my calf as I was jogging down the street and then took off before I could even land a kick. Bastard.

I don't like rats......
back in the late 80s.. I had to / got to.. spend a night - in an armpit of the world.. under a large drainage system..... the number of and how brazen the rats were. still boggles me... made that one of the longest nights of me life....
and.. we really couldn't leave.. long story... there was four of us.. one guy slept through the WHOLE thing... still don't know how he did that....
I make no secret of my disdain for them.. the last physical confrontation I got in was when someone was goaded into throwing a dead rat on me..... I went straight into tilt mode and attacked... poor guy....

I don't know if those guys have ever smelled it before but all of those dead rats around is going to stink up that whole place and then some more! Looks fun as hell though.
My dad has a bunch of dogs and there's always rats down there and I'll get the water hose and put the end of it in a hole and eventually they'll come running out and I just knock em in the gourd with a stick, pipe, etc...

That kind of reminds me of when I was a little kid.
When it got time to bush hog the pea patch they would get me, my brother, and a few of our cousins and give us broomsticks and have us follow the bush hog. Our job was to kill every rat that ran out, and believe me there were A LOT of them! That was always one of my favorite days as a kid

My uncle stuck a hose from an NH3 tank inside an old granery one time and opened the hose. He says to this day he has nightmares hearing their screeching.
