Bro, there is no shot clock, how the frick do you put up 100 points. Just use the game as a practice and run drills the whole time. Practice passing it around and dribbling. Practice dribble and passing while being double teamed.

fricking stupid. Blah blah, pussification of america, let em play. This is just dumb. I don't see how anyone wins this way. And the biggest thing is these controversial stories come out EVERY YEAR. This coach is a dumbass to not know this will become big news and create controversy. Just avoid it, even if you think you should be able to play hard the whole game.

I get people will come in here and argue for playing your hardest, but you can play your hardest and not take shots. Seriously. When you are up 99-2, what would compel you to take a shot? If you are being pressured, work on your dribbling and passing. Actually get something out of the game.

I think scoring 2 in a 100 point blowout actually looks worse than scoring 0.

Just something about the way it looks.

False River Boys Basketball lost to Southern Lab 121-13 in 2003. Don't hear any bitching about that lopsided score.

You expect there to be bitching 9 years after the fact?

I'm usually on board with most of the things that classify as "pussification of america", but not situations like this. I mean let's assume it was 55-0 at halftime, it is OBVIOUS you're going to win and win easily. There simply isn't any point in rubbing the other team's nose in it. I'm not saying they should dribble at halfcourt for 5 minutes then throw up a bad shot, but hell. Put in the 5 worst players you can scrape off the bench, let 'em work on passing, only let the shitty girls on the team shoot, play a relaxed defense, whatever. There's just no real difference in winning 50-0 as opposed to 107-2. The point is made regardless.

It is obvious that the losing team is no where near the talent level of the winner. How is it that these two teams are scheduled to play each other? I blame this on the coaches.

What if the sucky team was talking mad shite the whole game? Playing dirty? Throwing elbows?

I've been on the losing end of many blowouts (never this bad, though), and I find it insulting when a team "goes easy" on you.

I get what you're saying, but there is no shot clock.

If the team is bad enough to lose 107-2, that means they are so bad, that even if the other team didn't shoot and just worked on passing/dribbling, they would do that the WHOLE game. The other team seems so helpless they would never get the ball, wouldn't steal it, nothing.

The best case scenario is for your team to play slow, jack up a shot eventually, and let the other team rebound it so they get the ball once in awhile. I would do that not out of the kindness of my heart, but to break up the depressing monotony that would push me to the brink of suicide watching my team pass the ball for 2 hours.

Seriously. I wonder if, had they missed those 2 free throws, if they would have been the first basketball team to ever get shut out.

I guarantee someone has been shut out before. I shudder at the thought of it.
