I definitely don't want Mingo. Stay away.

I could maybe live with Montgomery. I think he'll be good, but not the disruptive force we need. I wish people would stop rating Bjoern so high so we could get him in the early teens

Werner is the next JJ Watt. Book it.

Please NO MORE BAMA players. None of the DBs Saban puts out have done as much as advertised in the NFL, and the Bama DB we have now almost singlehandedly cost us our last two playoff games.

Kareem Jackson & Mark Barron have looked up to draft status. Kirkpatrick hasn't seen much time just for injury.

I liked the way Marquis Johnson looked in camp too. Injuries have been the only thing holding him back even as a 7th rder

Charlie Peprah has stuck for a 5th Rd pick

What are the busts?

The most recent Bama linebackers have been far from busts as well.

Kareem Jackson

Played like shite his first two years. Basically did most of his developing in the NFL, not at Bama. Kirkpatrick might be injured but he most likely wasn't going to start this year anyways. Bengals drafted him to develop him for the future, he didn't even know how to properly back-peddle.

Though I'm down for CJ Mosley.

hey, ya never know, they might sign Michael Johnson DE Cinc & Shaun Phillips OLB SD. Then pass rsuher and OLB that can cover go way down on the need list. I could see a Milliner be the BPA then.

A biggie that could play into 1st Rd consideration is whether ya go back LT with Bushrod, Brown, or replace with a draftee like Eric Fisher Cent Mich or Jake Matthews TxAM.

Mosley hasn't declared and some think he won't.

He did have some tweets alluding he might return-

Ready for next December (graduation)

Never said I was leaving

If declaring, he might be a possibility in the 16-20 range

Mosley would be the only player off of that defense that I would want honestly.

I still don't think much of Jackson. He's gotten better but he has always struggled against the QB's who actually know what they are doing. I guess you could say the same thing for the rest of that Houston secondary though. Barron made a few highlight reels this year with some hard hits.

agreed.

no busts in my opinion but Jackson is the weak link of the bunch. Kirkpatrick was worthy his draft spot though IMO.

I wouldn't be thrilled about Milliner myself. I mean he could probably tackle better than some of the guys we have back there now but his coverage skills aren't anything to fap about.

Most prolly say Milliner just cuz he's the top DB on most draft boards. Again, still way early to get too precise in evaluations.

Currently at #15, each win or loss from here prolly will be one or two spots up or down. So still #10-20 possibilities. There's world of difference who you're looking at then. Under #12 and one of the premier pass rushers could be on deck. At #20 a CB could be BPA. Even Banks or Rhodes if not Milliner. Greer will be 31 next year.

I'm not advocating it at all. Just that the board could fall where it wouldn't be a shocker.

One thing about picking sooner is that the field does get much more defined versus the #24 to 89 first picks of the past 3 seasons.

Over sight on my part. Just assumed he had already given an indication that he was leaving.

yeah true. I was commenting more on him and some of the other Alabama players having watched them a good bit. I mean all of their games get shoved in my face on TV here. And when you tune into the local sports radio station here, what do you think they talk about 90% of the time?

and shite, most of my friends/coworkers, its almost all they talk about

the talk around here about Mosley has pointed to a return for his senior year. He is from this area and everybody has an opinion on him. Every time I hear how he plans to stay, I tune out of the conversation

I keep wondering why you mention Phillips as an OLB for us. When/where did he excel at OLB in a 4-3? I can only remember him doing well rushing the passes for a long time now with the Chargers.

The only CB worth our 1st Rd pick would be Xavier Rhodes from FSU. Big, physical, quick and consistent. He's not the fastest available but redeems himself with his ability to jam on LOS. Not very impressed with Milliner or Banks the second half of season.

Let's cover some things first and foremost.

1. The Saints don't draft OLB in the 1st round.
2. Will Smith and Sedrick Ellis are all but cut from this roster.
3. Spags loves his linemen and I expect him to bring in someone if we decide to go defense.
4. Jermon Bushrod is a free agent next season, Zach Strief has been downright atrocious this season. Don't rule out OT.

I'd be willing to be a large chunk of change we go pass rusher 1st, OT 2nd, and either a CB or S in the 3rd. Probably pick up a LB or two in the later rounds. Spags probably likes Hawthornes potential and obviously Lofton is a lock so I doubt OLB will be a huge priority

I agree we need to go DE or OLB but I think it will be hard to pass up Tavon Austin if he is BPA. Perfect fit on our team.
