Any recommendations?

you dont need a program. When you plug the ipod to the computer you open the ipod drive, and right click to open hidden folders. This is where the music is. No idea how the macs do it.

I used to use sharepod. Was really easy and pretty organized.

What I read on one site said this process for mac is pretty drawn out, and once you see the hidden files, they aren't named like they should be and are all unorganized with no discernible pattern.

I used irip. I have to pay 20$ or so. The free ones I found would only allow you to take 20 songs at a time. I have some 8,000 songs so I paid for it.

Was not a mac.

Best way for you to transfer music on a Mac is either with Homeshare through iTunes or load all the music to a Google Play account then you can put it anywhere you'd like.

This is how it goes down on a PC too.

I'm borrowing a friend's ipod and want one album from it out of 3000+ songs. You know how to find the ones I will be looking for?

I downloaded idump a couple years ago. Google. Not sure if it's still free, but it used to be.

Ipod access by Findley Designs. I've used it to transfer songs to various computers over the years.

It might just not be worth the trouble, you might be better off buying the damn thing.

The scrambling thing will screw you over.
