And I'm pumped. Got a fresh can of Copenhagen long cut and a couple of cans of vienna sausages.

Anyone about to take advantage of this cold front today and tomorrow?

Hopefully this will kick the rut into gear down where we are...saw a few signs last weekend, but a lot of the bucks I saw were still running together.

Our rut is extremely unpredictable. I've seen it start as early as this time of year, and I've seen them still chasing in late February. Makes it hard as hell to figure out.

Ours usually coincides with the first sustained cold snap...and looking at the forecast it looks like its going to get back up close to the 80s this weekend Last year they were rutting into mid Feb, that was the latest I have ever seen down there. Although, I did have to kill a little cull 6 pt this past weekend because I watched him run a doe into the brush

Going this afternoon again. Saw a pretty spike yesterday, but wind was not to my advantage to see a more experienced deer. He was jittery so I had a feeling he caught my scent.

Didn't see jack today. Nothing moving at all. Too much wind.

I cut out of work at 4 and was on my stand at 4:20. Too late and a bad stand (close to the camp), but dammit I had to be out here.
