| Courtney Gardner's Eligibility (Posted on 12/10/12 at 11:25 pm)
I know Gardner's academics will make it tough for him to get qualified for D1/FBS football next year... But, hypothetically, if he commits and makes his grades, how many years would he have to play? I can't find a definitive answer. Rivals shows he accumulated junior college stats in both 2010 and 2011. Is he sitting out this season or did he play? I'm a little lost on his recruitment so anything would be a help. I am extremely comfortable with our two new big WRs, but them both being JC guys has me a little concerned.

I don't think he played this year... so he'd have 2 to play 2.

as I understand it he has two years of elgibility remaning...though he is very likely to be one and done if he qualifies and even comes close to living up to the hype.

What exactly does he have left to do,? I remember reading about a number of classes. Anyone know exactly how many?

I'm going to be taking those (math and english) in December during the intercession -- four-week classes. I'll be taking those two classes including anthropology or a history class. Then next semester I'll be taking two anthropology classes and I'll be done.

I went to private school in BR then graduated from LSU in 4 years and I never took one semester of anthropology. But Gardner has to take 3? Wtf?

Probably just one of the easiest electives or social science courses, like how many of LSU athletes take a bunch of sociology intro and survey courses to fill their requirements.

I think he was in the 2009 class, so it depends on what he did that year. If he enrolled in a JC and redshirted, he would only have one year remaining. If he stayed out of college, trying to get qualified, he would have two years.

He should be able to pass three classes during intercession and two anthropology classes next semester if he really wants to get in. Doesn't sound nearly as bad as it seemed. I guess we will have an idea if he will be here(grades wise) after December has passed(first three classes). Hope he handles business because we definately need him now.

I'll be the first to say I know nothing about associate degrees.
