Reid fell off due to losing his surrounding cast of BT18 and TM7. I think Wing fell off because he was reading his own clippings and playing the rockstar persona. Mingo is still a bit raw.

Heard the same about wing and Simon just from the Br media. Said Simon has some family needs to take care of and wing just wants to get into the nfl. Logan did say after the arky game that he hasn't played his last game in tiger stadium and Reid's dad said he would be back.

I can't understand why a punter would want to leave early. It's not like his draft potential is ever going to get better or worse, and there's no guarantee you're going to walk into the league and take one of only 32 spots on planet earth reserved for punters. Assuming no financial hardship, why not just play football and enjoy college? The league will be there when you're a senior.

Wing is a virtual lock to leave. He does not exactly love school, and the league already knows how good he is despite a relative off year (which was still pretty damn good by anyone else's standards--finished #8 nationally in net punting, despite losing his snapper and two stud gunners). He is unlikely to improve his stock by coming back; as a punter he kind of is what he is already. May as well start earning that paper ASAP. I have seen where some scout said he might go as high as 3rd-4th round.

Thank you!!!

So many ignorant statements earlier in this thread. Wing had a bad year??? Really, look at the numbers. He hit about 3-4 bad punts all year. He didn't have as many punts downed inside the 5 yard line this year because the gunners couldn't get down the field quick enough to stop the ball.

Wing is uber-talented with what he can do punting the football. He does more than just kick it as far as he can each kick. He can angle kick, he can kick it high and short, he can boom it when backed up deep in his own territory. He's very good at kicking the ball to a place where the returner can't make a play on the ball.

If the dude doesn't like going to class, might as well start getting paid in the NFL.

Without looking at any posts here besides the OP's....

I could see Logan, Minter, Simon, Wing, and Ford coming back.

I will be surprised to see Mingo, Reid, Ware, or Montgomery back.

Minter has a good chance to go pro this year. The reason I think he comes back is that with the Chief, you know from years past he can really churn out some great LBs, and Minter can be the best we've had in a few years if he comes back. Also, if Simon goes pro, it'll blow my fricking mind. It's true, it was me earlier in the season saying how few times I've heard his name called, and how that's a great thing, but he's not a PP7, HB7, or Claiborne type of talent that should bolt early.

He's probably the least ready of those guys with the option of leaving IMO

Agrred, would figure Reid and Simon would be swapped on that list.

Wing didn't have a banner year this year. He made some shitty kicks so I think he returns for at least 1 more year. We also have a good kicker behind him!

Geez dude, you're still stuck on Mingo at LB. He's not a 4-3 LB, it's not a hard concept to understand

The only knock on Wing is that he is not a KO specialist in addition to great punter. His has great skill in terms of putting the ball where he wants, but I can't see him being drafted as high as Morestead w/ Saints. Wing just is not the weapon Morestead is for an NFL team.

That being said IMO the point of college is to get you into the proper career path. If Wing really can't improve his draft stock and he wants to be an NFL player then he should go now to the draft.

It's not like Wing can improve his stock. There's only so high a punter will go in the draft. No one is spending a 1st round pick on him. Does it matter if he goes in the 3rd/4th this year or next year? I can see his logic for leaving.

But a guy like Minter can move from the 2nd round to maybe the top 10, even the top 5. That's a huge difference in paychecks. It's a risk, but the reward is huge. He has a big decision to make.

Reid coming back would be sick. If we get Minter, Logan, and Reid back, Mingo or Simon are just icing on the cake. Unfinished business, y'all. Let's win the title.
