Played under Mack Brown, mentored under Urban Meyer @ Bowling Green I think. Coached under Ron Zook too I believe. Great recruiter, knows the south well. Very standup guy, a lot of the players look up to him as a father / authoritve figure.

Good recruiter. Our players looked poorly coached on defense, no clue how much was due to him.

He was probably our second best recruiter, so it's a good hire from that view.
His coaching abilities are questionable though

He likes Jake Holland at LB. had a hard time teaching more talented players the calls, etc...
Great recruiter. Keep him away from the Vols female student recruiters.

Great recruiter. Players dont like playing for him, chooses favorites and cant coach up players.
Also he has been under the radar busted for inappropriate texting/calling of female hosts of the football team. Total cheesedick

Never heard word one about his coaching. Nothing. No players talked about him. No coaches talked about him. Like he wasn't there, and like had no influence on anybody at any time. Total cipher.
But, yeah, he can recruit.

Solid recruiter, I think he's a better linebacker coach than most give him credit for. I kinda wish we had kept him.

When your offense is going 3 and out every time it makes it difficult on your defense to stop anyone. I think that was AU's main problem this year and it leaked over and affected the defense.

Our defense has been trash every year for four solid years. Outside of recruiting, not sure what he brings to the table.
