Religion/atheist, races, gay/straight etc?
I'm a straight, religious white guy so if I make a joke about anything other than what I am the people who or not like me get all pissy. Same thing if I voice an opinion about something other than what I believe then people who have a different opinion get pissed.
Why? Is it really any different than an LSU fan making Bama or aTm jokes or vice versa? Job or housing discrimination I can see but just making jokes or statements I can't. What's the big deal? Just bc somebody is not on the same "team" as I am, why the anger?
A lot of people take things too seriously. If I tell a group of _____ a joke about them, I'll get my arse kicked. If a group of ______ tells a joke about a group I'm in, I'll probably laugh at it if its funny. If its not funny, I won't get mad.
Good and bad is just a point of view right? It just depends on what side your on.

Makes you wonder, so many minorities (of course, who is isn't a minority today) are so 'proud' of what they are, but the slightest word or joke about them, and suddenly it is an attack against their race, culture, religion, etc. It is going to get to a point they outlaw laughter, because to laugh at someone means we are making fun of them. Crazy culture we live in today...

I agree. One thing I've noticed is that people I know of other races don't have white people jokes. They may make fun of us but they dont have flat out jokes. Almost every white person I've known has a joke about another race or has at least heard a few.

You speak of minorities and in a lot of cities, whites are a minority (BR,NO to hit close to home) but there's no uproar about it. I don't see gay people in BR raising a bunch of hell about it.
Btw, why are gay people (the ones I know) always so damn happy? People I work with, some of my family members and my GF's brother. I've never seen them without a smile on their face.

I don't get mad. I usually laugh bc I hang with mostly non Asians. But I can understand why they would get upset.
