Rummel wins it's first state championship in school history. Undefeated perfect 14-0 season.

Yea, you're right. Shaw had a title in the late 80s. Point still stands though. Not sure why anyone is pissed about a Nola school winning the 5A title after the dominance shown by north Louisiana lately.

Destrehan and Hahnville are the only ones close to NOLA that won 5A before this. Congrats to Rummel.

Congrats Rummel!! Defense wins championships and they took over in the 4th. Too bad we couldn't see WM and Rummel slug it out.

I think he'd be a great fit over there. They recruit Louisiana well.

West Monroe did not have the defense to win it all.

Against a spread team maybe. Against a traditional offense, yes...yes they did.

I won't say that as Rummel has a champion caliber team. I would have like to see the matchup, but WM couldn't field an onside kick.

After Watching tonight I would agree that Rummels D was slightly better but its all about matchups. WM has always had trouble with wide open passing teams like Barbe and Evangel. They would have been in a 17-14 dogfight with Rummel.

Shae won the 4A state title in 1987 beating Covington.
