re: Mini Split Outdoor Wiring Question
Posted by daviddsims on 8/16/20 at 8:03 pm
Yeah I would be adding a disconnect specifically for the new unit. I was going to add a 15 amp breaker in my main panel and run wire/conduit to the new disconnect just to meet code. ...
Mini Split Outdoor Wiring Question
Posted by daviddsims on 8/16/20 at 6:37 pm
I purchased a 110v mini split unit for my bedroom and had a question on wiring. Normally A/C outdoor units have a 220v disconnect out by the condenser for code. Since this is a 110v unit it states it need its own circuit but only needs 15 amp max dedicated. I can't seem to find a 110v disconnect any...

Attic Insulation ROI
Posted by daviddsims on 7/19/20 at 7:55 pm
My house is approximately four years old and has blown in fiberglass insulation. I've done a lot of work in the attic over the years and I need to bring the level up. Should I just go back with fiberglass and blow it in over cellulose? Also what level should I shoot for? I'm luck if if I have 6-8 in...

Yeah we plan on staying here for the a long time. Also, we have PMI and recent house sales are going for much higher than what I paid. I multiplied our current balance by 1.25 and I have about 25% of what the current value would be. I think I'm paying almost 280 a month just in PMI. ...
Home Mortgage Refinance Decision

I'm thinking of taking advantage of the rates right now and was looking for some advice on knowing when it's worth it to refinance. My current 30 year rate is 4.125 and I have about 70-80 grand in equity in my current home I've been in for over four years. Anyone have tips on when it's worth it to r...

re: Bermuda vs Centipede Seed

I would love to lay sod but I'm not OT rich and trying a 250 dollar seed experiment is much better than $2800. The hydromulch company wanted almost &1800 dollars to spray Bermuda, no thanks....

Bermuda vs Centipede Seed
Posted by daviddsims on 6/6/17 at 8:32 am
I already have half of my yard in centipede sod but need to do another 5,000 sq ft that is still bare. I'm thinking of preparing the ground to put seed out but am still debating on what type of seed to use. This is my backyard and gets a lot of activity so that's why I was thinking of bermuda and I ...
