Any fans here? When I was a kid (I'm 46 now), it was by far my favorite animated series, just on a different level than normal 60's/70's cartoon fare. I read somewhere that it originally aired in prime time, and high production costs led to its downfall because the animation was so above par at the time. I bought the series on DVD and forced my kid to watch them, lol. I tried to watch them in order but couldn't help but jump forward to episodes like the one with the Komodo dragons, the Pterodactyls, and a few others that were just too cool. Also bought the old Speed Racer series and watched most of those with him as well, though they were much better as a kid. The original Jonny Quest series still holds up pretty well today - it was just so ahead of its time compared to other animation of its era.
In recent years, I think Avatar: The Last Airbender is the best animated series. I watched those several times over with my kid, so he returned the favor by watching Jonny Quest and Speed Racer with me.

Best Opening Instrumental Score Ever!

I loved Johnny Quest.

The energy creature was one of my favorites.

Rewatching them around 35 years later, it was amazing how vividly I remembered so many episodes.

Biggest fan ever, right here. Great series, great stories, great locales, great animation, great characters, and great score. I could go on and on and on...

Love it.

Race Bannon would be on my short list if I was able to change my username.

I'm a few years older than you. Jonny Quest was a don't miss show when I was a kid. Loved it. It came on at night back then.

There was this one episode where they found an abandoned ship with some kind of sea monster on it... freaked me out when I was a kid.

And that invisible monster where they were flying around with jetpacks? Badass episode.

Race Bannon

If there was a JQ live action movie, who do you get to play Race?

As I said my favorite. Super scary monster and cool kickass jetpacks. Damn inventors slacking. No jetpacks and no damn Jetsons cars.

The sad thing about Hollywood is that if they did make a live action, they'd have someone like Tom Cruise play Race.
