I especially like how our fans get to leave halfway through a game, but when our team doesn't play for four quarters, the ones that left early bitch about the team.

You know perhaps if the stadium was full until the end of the game, the team would have that intensity through the end of a game, and perhaps they would be used to closing out opponents in the fourth quarter. Then perhaps, maybe just maybe, they don't give up long drives at the end of games..........

I wish some of us on here would stop describing our entire fan base as one, as if it were one person, or even a group of persons.
Yes "some" of the fans "suck arse," "some" are impatient, whining, and can't stand prosperity.
Yes "some" complain no matter what, and "some" hate Miles.
Are you describing the fans you see on this board? Because if that's your demographic sample, it is monstrously out of whack and innaccurate.
There are literally MILLIONS of LSU alumni and fans around the world, and probably 95% of them have never even lurked on a message board, let alone post!
That's not to say you can't encounter negative Tiger fans everywhere, but you simply can't make an across-the-board judgment about millions of diverse and different individuals, based on several hundred (if that) posters on a random internet message board, and the others you happen to encounter elsewhere.

And,why are THOSE fans put on a pedestal and given credence as THE spokespeople for the entire fan base ?????? Shouldn't the vast overwhelming majority of fans who bleed purple and gold, or are loyal to LSU, or are who are fans, but rather indfifferent or silent - be acknowledged, and not just the ones that "suck arse" ????????????

I liked the first part and then I read this.

We gave up a TD to USCe with 2 minutes left and I'm pretty sure the stadium was still full.

And hmm Bama scored with what like 58 seconds left? Stadium was still full at that point.

The only part of our fanbase I really have a problem with is the part that seems to be constantly wringing their hands about the state of our fanbase.

This. This. This. Just shut up about the fans already. Fans are gonna bitch no matter what. Bama fans bitched like no other on their website about playcalling and they lost 1 game. Get over it. It's gonna happen sure as there is a cow in Texas and a crawfish on Louisiana.

If you doubt any of what I just said, then you are a huge idiot and a tool.

i didn't say the stadium wasn't full. I was referring to that killer instinct at the end of games that i didn't see once from this team this year.

Your comment directly relates the number of fans in the stands to the intentsity to the lack of defense at the end of games...

you obviously look at a season on a game by game basis, not by how something in the first game of the season has an impact 10 games down the road.

I blame the fan police for not tsk-tsking loud enough when people start to file out.

Your posts arent making much sense.

The players had plenty of intensity in those games. Don't try and blame the crowd in the North Texas or Towson games to us giving up a TD at the end of the Bama game. What you are saying doesn't make sense.

Lord. I was just saying there's always a lot of bitching about the bitching, and my point was ours isn't the worst.

it was actually being used to closing out gamesm and how that confidence may have helped the team that i was referring to. It was a very weak argument that would likely not hold too much water at that.

point goes to you sir.

At least you accepted that it wasn't the greatest and didn't preach it to be the Bible. better than 98% of the board already.

I can't speak for others, I can only speak about the one I know which is LSUs.

We have some pretty entitled fans who think that we should go undefeated and win the National Championship season every single year no matter what, and if we don't the season was a complete failure and everything needs to be reevalauted.

Not saying no other fan base is like that, but I don't know them.

Our fan base is pretty pathetic at times.

Yeah it is.

I grew up in BR but graduated from UW. They love football in Seattle, and sure they have their population of rabid fans, but that proportion is much larger in Baton Rouge. Now that's good when things are going well, but unbearable whenever LSU is having anything but a perfect season.

But to LSU fans' credit, there's always been a component of fanatics that seems disproportionately large relative to the success of the team of the past 30 years or so. So I really can say that LSU fans are more vested in the success of the football team than most other schools. Just don't know that that is always a good thing.

But the worst are the Johnny-Come-latelys that just started following around 2003 and think that LSU is entitled to championships. Or the ones that say that if you don't freak out like they do, you're satisfied with mediocrity or being second best.
