I guess this is why UT is having a hard time finding a coach. Have one guy as #1, but offer it to someone else.

I hate the media. until UT's coach is hired, there will be multiple, multiple bs articles and speculations. and since UT is a fairly big name people will pay attention and read them.

Well, if you believe what you read, they offered Strong, interviewed Gundy, and told Fedora he was the back up plan.

And they wonder why their coaching search is a clusterfrick...

The last two Saban trainees, Dooley and Sunseri, worked out so well.

they're nothing but Saban puppets. easily replaceable. Saban however is irreplaceable.

Is Smart ready to be a HC at a big-time program competing in the best conference in football?

I know it's the NFL, but in NO Sean Payton has been the "real" offensive coordinator, even though Pete Carmichael has the title.

Nick Saban is the "real" defensive coordinator at Alabama. How much input does Smart really have? Perhaps some, but Smart needs to get some head coaching experience at a smaller school and prove he's capable of being a head coach. Maybe the Vols are hoping that Smart would turn out to be another Muschamp. That's the only reason I could think of them wanting to hire this guy.

There are proven head coaches still out there. When Butch Jones is the best option, you know you're in trouble.

And if you believed the media the Arky search was a clusterfrick. Make up your mind, or can you not because all you want to do is flame.
