Does anybody know why Fox Sports NO couldn't cover LHSAA football Champs live?

I was kind of surprised to find out they are only going to be tape delayed, seems like a couple years ago CST had them on live.

Attendance wouldn't matter much if they signed a decent multi-year TV deal with a local network.

The LHSAA has no business sense whatsoever.

Fox Sports Midwest here shows and has shown all the Missouri State Champ games for probably 4 years now.

Don't know if they have a deal or what, probably do. They play in the Dome also.

if they did they'd can Dennis McCain and only black out the games in NOLA... why should Ouachita Christian and Haynesville suffer bc they want NOLA fans in the Dome

Talk to anyone who has dealt with the LHSAA leadership and they will tell you the LHSAA is clueless in many areas, including marketing their sports.

You know, it is possible to bring in revenue for the football state championships without having people actually go to the games. Showing them live on statewide television would draw plenty of viewers, advertising dollars, and therefore revenue for the LHSAA. You might say a TV contract hasn't presented itself, but the LHSAA could just as easily put together a proposal for the TV networks and award the highest bidder.

Don't get me started on some of the boneheaded decisions over the years relating to other sports. Remember, the LHSAA is made up of principals. And since the vast majority are public school principals, we're talking about state government bureaucrats who have worked their way up the food chain. Some do a great job, no doubt, but many of them resist improving the sports for the student-athletes because they're afraid of change. It's that don't-rock-the-boat, status quo, clock-in-clock-out mentality that is throttling Louisiana High School sports.
