Rivals gave him a fourth *. Everyone has been saying he was underrated and I guess they were right...

To me look at the kids offers instead of their stars. Coaches know way more than Rivals or Scout.

Seems like a lot of the 3 star and low 4 star guys we end up taking end up being big names over the 5 star guys.

This class isn't going to be flashy but much like last year's class, it's solid from top to bottom. No real holes. If Les lands a few of the big fish left on the board this could easily be a top 3 class.

Dodd had a great season from what I could gauge by his stats (graded out 90% or better in all of his games).

I think he had some gaudy knockdown number.

Yeah.. I'm not entirely sure what the number was.. but it was eye-opening.

Thing is, many times great HS offensive linemen aren't necessarily great college prospects. A good majority of elite HS OL prospects have the characteristics that college coaches look for (i.e. size - obviously, footwork, reach, and athletic ability) but they lack adequate technique and/or strength and conditioning.

Dodd appears to be a well-polished offensive linemen that possesses the ability to become even better with college coaching/strength and conditioning. He should be a good one.

Did we ever find out why he flipped from Bama? I love the guy as a prospect.

He loved the family feeling on the team and O-line. Really got along well with the coaches and players. Main reason he committed to Bama was because it was closer to his home.

Your point is well taken. Further information into the mix - in addition to the number of major offers that a recruit has, how much weight should be given to whether there is a name listed under the "recruited by" column? More named recruiters equals potentially better player???

I've known several that played HS because of size, but they lacked the drive for the next level. Seems to be mostly a lineman problem.

Kind of like our coaches knew about Jefferson? Looks like Rivals was more correct than Miles, although they gave him one too many stars.
