Cabins in gatlinburg (Posted on 12/4/12 at 7:55 pm)
Does anyone have suggestions of places to stay in gatlinburg and things to do? Starting to plan a trip for the spring with college friends and I don't have any knowledge of the area

We usually do the two hour drive to Asheville and do the Biltmore tour. Kinda price, but if you're a AAA member you can get tickets for around $30 less at an AAA office.

We went summer of 2011. Stayd in Wears Valley in a cabin booked through VRBO.com. NOT in a "community" which we liked.
Gatlinburg is VERY touristy ... if you're going to go into the Smokies, I'd stay in Wears Valley or Townsend ... we did spend 1 day in "town" for my daughter. The rest were hiking and fishing in the mountains.
EVERYTHING in Gatlinburg is pricey. Prepare for that. Comedy Barn was fun .. it was I think more in Pigeon Forge.
