Question about BUIS

For my AR. Is mounting the front sight on a drop-in quad rail a bad idea?
Eta- It's a diamondhead aluminum drop in if that matters.
I'd think it wouldn't work too well, but mine's in there pretty tight and doesn't have any play in it. I'm looking at the magpul BUIS which is why the gas block is out the picture.

Are you replacing the front fixed sight?

It has a railed gasblock, so no fixed front sight.

As long as you get good irons, this is something a lot of people do.

Yes, bad idea.
Either get a free float rail or mount it to the gas block.
