lol yeah it was.

I think it's a good hire but simply going after the biggest "splash" you can make without much regard for fit is a dangerous way to operate.

Ok, well maybe I already knew the answer

Seriously it's not a flame. I just think it's a bit ironic for LSU fans to say Arkansas fans need to tone down their expectations for their program, when we just hired a coach with a better resume than any hire in LSU's history.

And I really don't see how that's relevant. If you're willing to pay, someone will take your money. That was never in question. The question is winning at a high level for an extended period and bringing home championships with it.

THAT'S the part you need to temper.

Making it to the Rose Bowl is a huge accomplishment when you come from the Big 10 even when you lose to TCU and Oregon.

WTF is LSU so insecure that they have to insert coaching threads about their school when their coach isn't going anywhere? I mean WTF.

Are you little tittie babies not getting enough attention?

I thought question was about the level of coach the program is capable of attraction.

Why? He would never leave Stanford for LSU. LSU needs to be realistic about the level of program they are.

Trent Johnson?

He was just using LSU as a stepping stone to TCU.

Shaw is an alum of Stanford, he wouldn't leave for LSU.

Anyone who's anyone would leave for LSU. Including Brett Bieliema.

Why the frick would LSU want to hire Bielema? The guy already cries in the B10 about recruiting tactics. Welcome to the SEC. This dude is in for a long day.

Being successful isn't easy in any league. Other coaches that have come from the Big 10 that turned out to be great didn't have the success that Bielema did.

Until you look at those UW non con schedules and throw that bucket of cold water called the Big 10 on it. He won big in a conference that just isn't any good right now.

Bottom line- I'll take Saban and Miles' RESULTS over anyone's RESUME any day.

Speculation on your part, but he still would take a step down in prestige to coach LSU and why would he?

He is winning conference championships and going to BCS bowls on an annual basis where he is at, LSU isn't capable of doing that.

Plus he is able to do this at his Alma Mater.

Johnny Jones has already recruited better than Mike Anderson for next year.

Sure, the last time the LSU job was open, you hired a coach with a record barely above .500 in the weak big12.

Over inflated sense of self worth.

My guess is that LSU would pursue Mike "I'm a Man" Gundy, DBag Sweeney, Jim Mora, Jr. or Jimbo Fisher. They fit the formula.
