So far it's a great book. I really like the fact that he gives specific examples that back up his points and is able to make a great argument. The only problem I have is hearing his voice in my head when I'm reading it.

I feel like if there was a way to get him involved with college republicans he would be great. Kind of how John Stewart really seems to lure young kids to the left.

Gutfeld isn't a Republican though, he's a "libertarian".

Just like Bill Maher, right?

Libertarian has become such a waste-basket term that it really doesn't have any meaning anymore.

And I like John Stewart.

Citwtt hears voices in his head all the time, I bet he could give you some advice on how to handle that.

I don't know. I didn't read it. That wasn't the question.

Really? I can only think of Maher, who called himself a libertarian. Anyone else improperly called that by outside observers?

About half of this board that calls themselves libertarian as well. The libertarian stance has been so watered down in the last two years that it barely resembles what it once was.

For instance, you have people that claim to be libertarian because they are fiscally conservative and "socially liberal"...code words for not religious. Yet, these same people are all about bombing "terrorists" and are against legalization of drugs.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, you have libertarians that do not believe in government in any form whatsoever.

The logical gaps are Grand Canyon like in differences of philosphy and opinion on major issues.

Point being, libertarianism is so many different things to so many different people that it is akin to cerebral palsy in the medical world. It is a waste-basket term with no real meaning anymore.

Even better Republicans need to stop trying to legislate morality. They do have better fiscal ideas than the Democrats so unfortunately I have to side with them.

That's not inconsistent with calling oneself a libertarian.

First, I think libertarians can and do disagree on aspects of bombing "terrorists". Secondly, I've yet to see a self-identified libertarian on this board be against drug legalization...hell even the self-ID conservatives are seeing the light on that issue.

I think this is more your imagination.....but I don't doubt some people improperly self-identify but what political vein is immune from that.

I bought it for the Arkansas trip and read the whole thing that trip. I thought it was pretty good. A lot of truth in it about how the left flys off the handle if you don't agree with them but they want you to kowtow to their views. And yes, plenty of examples.
