2 sources very close to Jeff Long have said that Long has been turned down 6 times, and is now to his "b" list, which includes Dykes, Briles, Smart, and Taggart. The board of trustees is pissed right now and is wanting to step in. If they have to step in then expect Davis, with a few of them still on the Malzahn wagon. However, since the board is appointed by the governor they don't want to piss him off since he is an ASU guy.
This comes from a very reliable source. I hope I'm wrong with all of this.

I would be dreading Smart. I feel like he is just a guy collecting a paycheck. Easy to hide your flaws when you have Alabama's talent.

this shite can't end soon enough. Long is the most secretive AD out there who enjoys playing puppet master and toying with the media more than hawgalude likes to jump off e-cliffs, yet more people have more "sources" that are close to Long and get info than any other school out there.

I'm just conveying information. This is coming directly from people EXTREMELY close to Jeff Long. I promised that I wouldn't reveal who these people are because it could potentially affect their jobs. This is an internal affair and they are told to keep their mouths shut for obvious reasons.
Take my information or leave it. I don't care. I hope I'm wrong but this is not good news.
