I think he will be a great head coach. Was hoping yall would hire BMFP since I can't stand him. IMO he is much better than Gus.

He could be the next Pat Dye or the next Derek Dooley. Who knows?

Crimson colored glasses...

Although I tend to prefer Smart over Gus if those are the only two choices.

Yes i have Crimson colored glasses so that is part of it , but i think he will be a strong disciplinarin and have AU playing tough SEC football with a strong defense. May take a couple of years but he is a really good recruiter and i think the style of play he will bring will work better in the SEC than Gus's.

I think he would have players on the team with the athletic talent to make a quick turnaround. It's whether they have the desire to make that change. It would either be a quick turnaround, or a mass culling of the herd.

Agree. Bama had to cut out some "cancer" when Coach Saban arrived. Hopefully not too MUCH would need cutting.

If true, I'll say congrats and this is gonna be weird.

It's crazy to me that a program like Auburn would take a chance on such an unknown commodity. Although it would be interesting to see how Smart goes about his business in regards to recruiting against Bama.

Definitely. Who knew a couple weeks ago that the AU hire could possibly piss off both fanbases the same amount?

Is Kirby's wife crazy? If not, then I don't think it's a good fit for Auburn. Gus would be perfect.

Does it really piss Bama fans off that much? They knew he'd be gone in the next couple years and they know as long as Saban is still there the defense will be fine. Unless you're talking about going to Auburn...

Doesn't bother me, most of us know who runs our defense. Guy can recruit though. But as long as we have Saban, I'm not worried.

It would be alot easier to have the natural hate factor if BMFP was the Auburn coach than if it is Kirby. Thats for sure.

If it's true I'm sure the hate will come.
