The only "big" deal about this is that the US is flying drones over Iranian air space.

Yeah. It's hard to really get pissed about them taking down our drones. I mean, it isn't as if we wouldn't take theirs down if they could get over our airspace.
I mean, I get that we're going to want to surveil many nations but with that comes natural hazards. The other nation isn't doing anything wrong when they try to stop us.

why do I feel like we are the ones lying right now? I don't believe any of the stupid conspiracy theories out there, but I don't believe the US government is above propaganda. (not an Obama comment, i felt the same about the Bushes and Clinton)

According to the Navy, we haven't lost any military drones. That doesn't cover the CIA who also operates drones.

We aren't the only actor operating drones over the sand box. Our allies also have drones. The IDF probably has quite a few operating in Persia.
